Production Team Leader – Extrusion

Position:                        Production Team Leader – Extrusion
Location:                       Chippenham
Reporting to:                Extrusion Supervisor

Wavin Ltd are currently recruiting for a Team Leader within their Extrusion department at Chippenham. This position will work on a 12-hour continental shift pattern.
The main responsibilities within the role are to manage and support a team of Extrusion Operators in producing plastic building products or high quality fittings through our extrusion lines whilst working to Wavin’s BS and ISO standards.
In consultation with your supervisor, you will manage the day to day technical operation of your allocated shift, ensuring timely and accurate tool changes whilst adhering to any maintenance schedules and providing support for tool or material evaluations.
The role requires you to work with all your colleagues in maintaining a high level of housekeeping within the production environment ensuring the function operates in a safe and healthy manner.

Participating in the development and implementation of Chippenham improvement plans, you will undertake any activity as directed by the Line Management and within current skill range or training to support the introduction of new activities, attitudes, skills or knowledge and/or the demonstration of professional competence.

Wavin Ltd are keen to hear from candidates who have a demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing process technology.

With strong planning and organisational skills, the successful candidate will have previous experience of short/medium size batch production and a flexible approach.  The role would suit someone with experience of setting, operating and troubleshooting a wide range of production tooling within an Extrusion or Moulding environment. Ability to demonstrate broad product range knowledge, materials, machinery and people management within the manufacturing processes.
